IDENTIFY, REGISTER

Prior to communicating with the objects, those must be clearly identified and registered. SALT™ sets a secure communication channel that will guaranty the security of all the transactions between the server and the objects.

CONFIGURE, PROGRAM

Objects or functions inside the objects can be dynamically personalized. An object or a function can be programmed to operate in different modes. Netlist obfuscation techniques are used to secure against reverse engineering.

MEASURE

Events or time can be counted and results returned to the license server.

CONTROL, MANAGE

Thanks to control registers, coded informations can be returned to the license server.

SALT™ establishes a secure communication channel between license server and the functions to be controlled inside the objects.

SECURED BY HARDWARE

All the treatment of the information inside the objects is done in hardware (no software intervention), at any time, no information in clear can be available on buses nor in any register or memory inside or outside the processor core. On case by case, for more flexibility, part of SALT™ can be embedded in a secure element or in a TEE.

Most of the IoT management tools are limited to authentication and right management. Algodone offers additional functions for measurement and control.

THE SALT™ ARCHITECTURE

SALT™ includes two key technology components: Secure DRM IP and Secure License Server

THE LICENSE SERVER

Algodone Secure License Server generates and manages encrypted licenses. The communication with the objects is achieved by exchanging license files.

THE DRM IP

It uses Root Of Trust to strongly authenticate and make sure that licensing is only activated for the intended device. It also controls the encrypted license to enable/disable device functionalities or features. The licenses are also used to return data to the license server.
