Algodone's DRM technology in a 65nm ASIC prototype

After having validated its concept of license based hardware activation on FPGA platforms, Algodone is proud to announce that its R&D team has successfully implemented its DRM technology in a 65nm ASIC prototype, so called LGDN 001, with a full digital design flow from specs to silicon.
The chip contains different flavors of the Algodone IP components with a licensable video processing system and is 100% compliant with the functional and electrical objectives.
LGDN 001 is a real Proof of Concept of the Algodone solution and is now used in an integrated demonstration platform which highlights the benefits of the Algodone technology : from license generation to IP block features activation, with chip discrimination.

We spent 3 months from chip level specs to tapeout, reusing the same RTL code for our IP components as the one used for FPGA targets. We executed the Front End and Back End steps with standard procedures for the ST CMOS 65 nm technology. We used the CMP services for silicon and packaging (PGA 180), developed boards and tested the prototypes with the CNFM tester and a FMC mother board. All tests passed ! We are now highly confident that the Algodone solution can be easily deployed in ASIC projects - said Stéphane Bonniol, R&D Director at Algodone
